Despite its legendary reputation, Aspen is a more intimate resort that offers a special folksy Victorian culture, where skiers can ascend the slopes of Aspen Mountain from the center of town, and ski down the Little Nell Run back into town. Still, the winter blast of this little resort area is amplified by a “Power of Four” with quadruple peaks – Buttermilk, Snowmass, Aspen Mountain and Aspen Highlands.

Beginners can start at Buttermilk, a low altitude family-oriented ski area that is the easiest skiing mountain in Aspen. Snowmass, the largest of the four areas by far, features wide cruiser runs and family-friendly atmosphere. You can really kick it up a notch on Aspen Mountain and Aspen Highlands, intermediate-to-expert-level mountains – ones that include the famous Highland Bowl, providing some of the most intense skiing in Colorado.
